New Document Issue – Argentina
On 30 January, Argentina announced the issuance of a new passport and identity card, introducing updated security architecture and materials.
One of the main differences in the passport, compared to previous versions, is the introduction of polycarbonate as the datapage substrate. In this way, the model aligns with international standards.
The front and back covers retain their existing format. The front of the polycarbonate datapage is offset printed, with a background design incorporating two-colour, broken and mirrored guilloche patterns. The page also includes a mirage image and transparent window.
The datapage retains a machine-readable zone in the standard two-line, 44-character format. The holder’s portrait is featured alongside a ghost image positioned to the right, as well as a multiple laser image and transparent window.
