Mühlbauer IDENTIFIER 60 Plus
Following from the IDENTIFIER 6, 60, 6000 S and 6000, the 60 Plus has the option to personalise passports either by inkjet technology, laser engraving or a combination of both. The passbook is fed into the input slot or an input magazine of the machine system. The modular system allows for the combination of all modules to fulfil a complete personalisation of the booklet. Inkjet and/or laser systems, lamination modules and optical/ electrical verification can be integrated in the system.
The system can be enhanced with magazine input and output stacker and has the same printer core as the IDENTIFIER 6 and IDENTIFIER 6000 models for forensically identical results.
Smart Engines Forms New Partnership with Russian Railways
Russian Railways self-service terminals now use advanced Smart Engines technologies to sell tickets for long-distance trains. The integration of the Smart ID Engine software product for passport scanning into terminals simplifies the routine procedure of manually entering passenger personal data and speeds up the ticket sales process.
The Smart ID Engine is a tool for automatic ID scanning with document authentication, data consistency checking, and face matching of over 1,810 types of ID documents from 210 issuers worldwide. The software does not transfer the client’s data to third-party services or third parties for manual processing and the data is not saved or stored — the recognition process is performed in the local RAM of the device, and it does not require internet access.
The project integrator, JSC Transinfoset, has set up a network of more than 300 terminals currently operating on the railways of Russia and Kazakhstan.
An AI-based software for data capture of a passenger’s passport was integrated into a new generation of self-service transaction terminals (SSTT). The first samples of terminals were installed at the Leningradsky railway station in Moscow. Russian Railways plans to expand its SSTT fleet, primarily by equipping the most visited railway stations in Russia with intelligent terminals.
Smart Engines is developing energy-efficient algorithms for scanning identity documents integrated into the SSTT. The high-speed Smart ID Engine detects the passenger’s passport and automatically enters the data into the required form fields to issue a ticket. Thus, the passenger no longer needs to enter the passport details on their own, making the ticket buying process six times faster by reducing the time spent on manual data entry.
