ODDS 2027 (25-27 January, Berlin) invites original research and technical solutions across optical features, materials, biometrics, cryptography, machine-readable data, and integrated systems that secure government-issued documents and identities. As the definitive forum for unveiling new breakthroughs, ODDS brings together industry, academia, and government to advance security in both physical and digital domains.

The core challenge

As interactions move online, identity and payments face complex threats, including AI-generated content and learningbased attacks. At the same time, datadriven detection and verification open powerful defences.

Are digital vulnerabilities greater than those in physical credentials (ID cards, passports, driving licences)? How do we achieve robust security in virtual and digital environments when both attackers and defenders use AI? How should physical and digital documents coexist, and what roles should each play?
