Covestro Marks 10 Years of Innovation in Secure Document Materials
Covestro, the German materials science company spun out from Bayer in 2015, is celebrating a decade of innovation and growth with a focus on sustainable solutions for secure documents. Over the past ten years, the company has established itself as a key supplier of high-performance polymer films used in passports, ID cards, and driving licences.
At the core of its identity-document portfolio are Makrofol® ID polycarbonate films and Platilon® ID thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films, which are engineered to deliver durability, optical clarity, and tamper-resistance. These materials are used in datapages, card slabs and hinges, where long-term stability and laser engravability are critical to ensuring authenticity and protecting against counterfeiting.
