Burkina Faso Introduces Next-Generation ePassport
The government of Burkina Faso has officially launched its next generation ePassport, featuring advanced security enhancements and meeting international standards for secure identity documents.
The new ePassport incorporates a polycarbonate data page, which improves durability and resistance to tampering.
This material upgrade also supports the integration of sophisticated personalisation techniques, including the use of true-colour portrait technology. The ePassport is fully compliant with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensuring it is recognised and accepted for international travel.
EMPTECH, a global provider of identity management solutions, has been selected to implement the ePassport system for Burkina Faso. EMPTECH’s solution includes an advanced registration and application system, integrating AI-powered biometric enrolment devices that capture biometric data in accordance with ICAO standards. These devices are designed to enhance both the accuracy and security of the data, while also streamlining the user experience during the passport issuance process.
