A New OVD for ID Protection

As identity document forgery becomes increasingly sophisticated, the need for advanced security features in polycarbonate ID documents has become more critical.

One such innovation is Flow Print, an optically variable security feature designed to combat sophisticated attempts at document fraud. Flow Print is the latest addition to IDEMIA Smart Identity’s suite of optically variable devices (OVDs) for physical ID protection, which includes other technologies such as LASINK™ Helios and Stereo Laser Image (SLI).

How it works

Flow Print employs the principles of 3D parallax to create dynamic visual effects that vary with the viewing angle. This technique exploits the relative motion between different elements in the visual field, which creates the perception of depth and movement even when viewed via an engineered surface.
