Council Calls for Global Adoption of Digital Health Certificates

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has issued a call to governments worldwide to join the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Global Digital Health Certification Network (GDHCN). This initiative aims to prevent problems surrounding travel restrictions in the event of future health crises.

WTTC President and CEO, Julia Simpson, made this appeal at the World Health Assembly meeting in Geneva. She urged global representatives to collaborate in guaranteeing universal standards for testing and digital vaccination certificates. Simpson emphasised that joining the WHO’s GDHCN would ensure health checks are universally aligned, enabling seamless verification of identity and health documents across borders.
