TECH5 Wins US Law Enforcement Contract

TECH5 has initiated the modernisation of the Virginia State Police’s Livescan systems, a critical upgrade aimed at enhancing biometric identification processes.

TECH5’s contract will oversee the deployment of approximately 800 Livescan systems across the Commonwealth of Virginia, supported by a cloud-hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed to streamline and enhance data processing.

The updated Livescan system represents a substantial technological improvement over traditional systems. The integration of multimodal biometric capabilities, including fingerprint, facial recognition, and tattoo identification, allows for more robust identity verification.

These additional modalities address scenarios where fingerprints alone may not provide sufficient identification, particularly in cases involving incomplete or degraded prints. By capturing and processing these biometric identifiers in a unified system, the solution improves both the accuracy and reliability of identification efforts.
